Fear of the Delta COVID variant is apparently spiking.
I 'get' it that inside or in crowded outdoors, it’s just fine to mask up and feel better psychologically and maybe the mask might work a teeny bit. Because you never know what might happen here in 89%-vaccinated (!!!) San Mateo County. Ironically, the Trump vaccines have been incredibly popular here.
But I have noticed a distinct uptick in the number of cyclists masked-up for COVID. These cyclists are riding by themselves, with a brisk fog-driven breeze in addition to the effective wind speed of 10 to 30 mph. Better safe than sorry or mental illness?
